How Quaint Oak Bank Supports Local Libraries in Its Centennial Year

In its 100th year, Quaint Oak Bank is putting a strong focus on something that impacts every community: access to learning.

As part of its centennial initiatives, the bank has expanded its partnerships with public libraries across the region, including the Bethlehem Area Public Library, Southampton Free Library, and Lititz Public Library.

These partnerships go beyond sponsorship—they’re designed to help libraries grow programs, reach more people, and create hands-on experiences that bring communities together.

Why Libraries Matter for Our Communities

Libraries have always been more than just a place to check out books. They’re gathering spaces, learning centers, and community hubs.

Quaint Oak’s approach recognizes that each library serves a different audience, with different needs. Instead of offering one standard package, the bank worked with each location to create tailored support that aligns with local programming and priorities.

The goal is simple: strengthen the role libraries play in making education, resources, and opportunities accessible to everyone.

Bringing Sustainability to Life with Seed Libraries

One of the most visible parts of these partnerships is the expansion of seed library programs.

Each participating library received curated seed collections—including Pennsylvania wildflowers and vegetables—along with a dedicated card catalog cabinet to house and showcase the program.

These seed libraries give community members the opportunity to:

  • Grow their own food
  • Learn about local plants
  • Share resources with neighbors

At Lititz Public Library, the program is already helping foster a culture of education and self-sufficiency among gardeners of all experience levels.

Supporting Programs That Go Beyond the Building

In addition to seed libraries, each location received support specific to its programming goals:

  • Bethlehem Area Public Library received funding for a guided hike with the Black River Conservancy, along with journals and creative supplies to support educational activities.
  • Southampton Free Library expanded its community learning programs with new raised garden beds to enhance its existing seed-sharing initiative.

These additions help libraries offer more interactive, hands-on learning experiences that extend beyond traditional services.

A Tailored Approach That Makes an Impact

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Quaint Oak focused on listening first.

Each partnership was built around what the library actually needed—whether that meant funding programs, enhancing physical spaces, or expanding access to resources.

Library leaders have emphasized how meaningful that approach is, especially as they continue to look for ways to engage their communities in new and relevant ways.

Part of a Bigger Centennial Commitment

These library partnerships are just one piece of Quaint Oak Bank’s broader centennial strategy.

Throughout its 100th year, the bank is focused on:

  • Expanding access to educational resources
  • Supporting community-driven programs
  • Encouraging sustainability and local engagement
  • Strengthening long-term community well-being

It’s a continuation of a commitment that has been in place since 1926: investing in the communities it serves.

Looking Ahead for More Connected Communities

As these programs grow, the impact will continue to build—from more engaged library visitors to expanded educational opportunities and stronger community connections.

For Quaint Oak Bank, the partnerships are about more than celebrating a milestone year. They’re about making sure the next 100 years start with stronger, more connected communities.
